Bill Moss, Hickory propose $130m hotel at Sydney Airport: AFR, 6/10/21

Modular builder Hickory has partnered with Bill Moss’ Boston Global and new real estate player Atlas Investment Corporation on a $130 million hotel development near Sydney Airport due to be completed by 2024.

The three companies have formed a joint venture called Boston Atlas Hickory Hotels to undertake the proposed 12-storey Mascot project, which is timed to open when international and domestic travel have returned to pre-COVID-19 levels.

A development application for a 224-room upscale hotel at 210 O’Riordan Street (on the corner of Robey Street and Baxter Road) has been lodged.

The site is less than a kilometre from the domestic airport terminal, and opposite a new 301-room Moxy hotel that Marriott will operate from 2023.

Title deeds show Boston Atlas Hotels has placed a caveat over the 2095 square metre former carpark site, currently being used as a COVID-19 testing centre.
